March Gig Reviews!

Like many of my pals March was gig month, with practically one gig a week, honestly what a dream life. So instead of me writing several different posts on each show which you all know I probably wouldn't write until 2020, I thought I'd combine them all in one 'epic' summary post.

Sunday March 5th, With Confident, Asylum, Birmingham. Starting the month with Aimee and some Australians is how I wish to start every month. This was the first time I saw With Con live and I had such a fun time that I've already got a ticket to see them play again when they are back in the UK next month doing a couple of shows with Set it Off. This tour was in honour of their debut album Better Weather and had support by Milestones (who I think we missed) Safe To Say and Broadside, both of which got added to my Spotify playlists after the show.  (Seriously go and listen to Damaged Kids by Broadside right now, I'll wait don't worry) The diverseness of the crowd surprised me, I thought before going in the crowd would be made up of people around the same age of me with a couple of mums and dads dotted around here and there, which there were, but we were also so kindly graced with the presence of 4 asshole 30 something year old men who probably could've done with taking a chill pill or a kick in the balls, but hey ho life goes on and beer washes out. With Con are an insane live band, with some great on stage banter (I hate this word but no other word fits as well) and I really hope they achieve everything they deserve.

Friday March 10th, All Time Low, Hammersmith Apollo, London. After indulging in a veggie feast courtesy of Natalie's mum and a couple mouthfuls of vodka lemonade, we jumped in a Uber to Hammersmith where we met up with ATL's original Emo Queen, the one and only earthtounicorns, known to most people as Vanessa. The support acts for this tour were Waterparks and SWMRS. I'd previously listened to Waterparks and really enjoyed their latest album Double Dare so was really excited to see them, however with their lead singer on vocal rest their set was a little disappointing however it wouldn't stop me from seeing them again when they are all in good health. My biggest surprise from the night was how much I enjoyed SWMERS (fun fact: the drummer, Joey, is the son of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong) The moment they said 'this song is about Miley Cyrus' I knew I loved them.

Saturday March 18th, State Champs, O2 Forum, Kentish Town, London. What did I enjoy the most, the pre-show cocktails or the actual show? This show was supported by As It Is and someone else who I may have forgotten. As It Is were actually really good but what was the most enjoyable was Natalie's enthusiastic singing and dancing. Shockingly, the crowd for State Champs was actually some what more chill than it was for As It Is, but the atmosphere was still fire.

Saturday March 25th, The Maine, Electric Ballroom, London. Oh, wait, I DIDN'T GO!!!!

Some of my very talented pals have also posted on their platforms about these shows so please go and check them out!
