Top Ten: Beauty

iya! I am back, second post of the year already, I am on a roll. So I came up with an idea (it's probably not original so credit to whoever was the first person to come up with this way back when earth began) of writing my own Top Ten lists on whatever takes my fancy when I have the motivation to write a post, whether it be beauty, (which this time it is) music, travelling etc.

So like I just said about ten words back, this weeks topic of choice is beauty. I've dug though my overfilled make-up bag and pulled out some of my favourite things and now I'm going to tell you all about what they are and why I love them.

*disclaimer - these are in no particular order.

1) The Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I feel like I brought this on a slight whim and a big hope that it would improve my lack of eye makeup skills, which is did, and I therefore have no regrets. Yes, it sounds a little expensive at £38 but I can assure you that if you love eyeshadow, whether you're an expert or a beginner this is well worth splashing out on. It is made up of 12 rose-hued neutral colours,  all with different finishes including metallic and mattes, all the colours are so soft on your skin, they are super creamy and pigmented, and they last ALL DAY! My personal favourite colour out of the twelve is 'Buzz' a lovely soft and glittery pink colour. The palette also comes with a double ended eyeshadow and blending brush as well as samples of four of UD's eyeshadow primers, each of which holds about a weeks worth of primer, so in reality you're getting a months worth of free eyeshadow primer as well.

2) Benefit Watt's Up! highlighter. Highlighter is a makeup product I am so happy I was introduced too, I started off just using an MUA highlighter and contour kit that cost like less than £5 but it did the job but then I went to New York and brought a Benefit advent calendar which contained a bunch of mini products and Watt's Up! was one of them and now I'm planning on buying the full size one. The full sized product comes in at £24.50 which left me a little wide eyed but I feel like it will be worth it since the mini one is lasting me so long and it kind of makes me feel like a supermodel. I just use a little of it on my cheek bones just above my bronzer to help bring out the contour, and then use a cheep £3 finishing powder over the top to help keep it going all day long.

3) Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in 14 Brown n Nude. I truly believe a nude lip liner is a must in everyone's makeup bag, it's just such a good way to finish off any makeup look. This liner was the first nude colour I brought and I've brought several others and more expensive one's since and I do not regret any of them. This one comes in at less than £5 so if you just want to test out a nude colour and don't want to splash out like £15 on a Mac one, this is the one for you. It's super creamy but shows up on your lips slightly matte, it lasts a relatively long while, yes you might have to reapply after you've eaten but isn't this is the case for 90% of lip products?

4) Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist. I own a bunch of these, they all smell super incredible, the fragrance lasts a good few hours and I feel like they are a handbag necessity. The 'flavour' I'm digging the most at the moment is Dreamy Vanilla because I love anything that smells of vanilla so why shouldn't I smell of it too? Victoria's Secret, Secret Fantasies, as they are apparently known, are always on a buy so many for so much offer which makes the slightly expensive singular price so much cheaper and worth while, trust me you will struggle to choose just one you like so this offer is perfect. Unfortunately living in the UK you can't get them shipped so you will have to visit one of the few stores we have here and pick them up.

5) Eco Tools Lovely Looks Brush Set. This 5 piece makeup brush set is the perfect set to complete a look from start to finish, all the brushes are made of soft, cruelty-free bristles and the handles are all made of eco-friendly recycled aluminium and bamboo. At only £11.99 in Boots it is well worth a purchase.

6) Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick in 07 Nude-ist! Liquid lipsticks are the new thing at the moment and i am all for it. I love matte lip products yet a lot of them aren't very moisturising and can dry my lips out after only wearing them for a hour or so, so of course I love these matte products that are super soft and moisturising and last all day. I brought this product on a rush to choose my third product in a 2 for 3 offer and I'm so glad my hand grabbed this.

7) Clean & Clear fast clearing spot treatment. Ever woken up with a giant spot on your face? Of course you have, you're human. This little bottle is an absolute saviour when this disaster happens. One tiny drop of gel on your spots and they will be drastically reduced or will have even cleared completely in just four hours. A total life saver in my eyes.

8) Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Absolutely everyone was raving about this mascara before I brought it and now here I am ready to join in. I brought this in New York as the exchange rate made it cheaper than the £18 that it is here in the UK, but I will totally be paying that from now on as I refuse to use anything else. I was unfortunately not blessed with super long and thick eyelashes and this mascara makes me hate my genes in that department a little less as this mascara kindly gifts me with the long and thick eyelashes I've always wanted.

9) Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer. I used to be one of those people that just brought cheap foundations and concealers but that has now changed and I am so thankful that I loosened by purse strings. These products leave my skin looking so good with a healthy and natural looking glow. Even after wearing it all day, which it lasts for, my skin still feels soft and not oily and it doesn't leave me with spots after wearing it like I found with some other foundations. I use both these product in No. 51 Light Vanilla but the No, 52 Vanilla also works for me.

10) Alien by Thierry Mugler. In Sephora they sell this 15 piece sampler set of perfumes which then entitles you to a free full sized bottle of your favourite and this is how I came to own this perfume. This product comes in a super pretty, white, gold and purple box and smells incredible, I'm not going to attempt to describe it's smell just know it smells super nice. At just under £50 i think it's in the middle price range of the majority of fragrances on the market at the moment, I believe the cost is well worth it as the bottle lasts a really long time as one spray stays on your skin all day so you don't need to keep replying it.

So those are my Top Ten beauty products at the moment, I hope that if you go out and buy any of these, you love them just as much as I do and they don't let you down. I really hope you enjoyed this style of post (especially since it took me so long to write it) and I guess I should add a disclaimer that I am (unfortunately) not endorsed by any of these brands or products.
