So the other Thursday was the start of 5SOS' Sounds Live, Feels Live tour for me, I ended up getting a last minute ticket to their soundcheck and being my first 5SOS fan soundcheck experience I was a little anxious of what it would be like, that and the fact my friends had standing tickets and I only had a seated one so I somehow needed to get myself in with the standing line and then get in to the standing pod later that night, which amazingly I did!
Soundcheck consisted of the band playing a couple songs including Outer Space, Long Way Home, and (my personal fave) Catch Fire. They then came to the end of the catwalk to answer some fan questions, this is where I avoided eye contact after the first 'hi' and paid more attention to my friends than the band I'd paid to see. They answered a couple questions ranging from reasons why they don't write more songs about 'sticking it to the man' like Green Day did with American Idiot, which then sent Ashton on a speech about how they want to play to their Chinese fans and how they'd rather write less 'revolutionary' songs and still be able too, to 'what do you dip your chicken nuggets in?' which personally interested me more.
For the first show we were in the standing pod on Calum's side of the stage, this year the pods were a lot smaller than last tour but with I'd say the same amount of people in them, we took a spot in the top corner by the catwalk, which gave us somewhere to dump our stuff and rock a few dance moves.
This tour is supported by a blonde boy from Los Angeles who goes by the name of Jessarae (idk if this is spelt right) who plays music that Ana described as 'a mix between country music and music you have sex to' which is the most accurate description ever.

The Australian band started their (slightly late) lengthy set with Carry On which I thought was perfect as the good times did roll. Despite a lot of peoples upset over the setlist I thought it was a lovely balance between old and new and I'm probably one of the only people that appreciated the 2014 throwback of Heartache on the Big Screen. I would also like to take this moment to thank Luke for blocking my view of Michael playing the keyboard disguised as a piano.
So the second night came around and I'd brought myself an £8 ticket up in the 400 blocks, we were going to try and get in to soundcheck for free but decided to stay home and drink vodka and eat Mac 'n' Cheese which I think was for the best. I think we got to the venue around 5:30/6 but my mind was a little hazy so I don't actually know, but I do remember drunkly running in to so many people I knew which was lovely. We went in to the venue part way through the support and somehow ended up in Michael's pod, where we drunkenly sang and danced our way though the set and hopefully didn't annoy too many people. After the show we ended up going to a club for a while before deciding McDonald's sounded like a better way to end the night.
So that was my first leg of the tour over but no need to fear me and Vanessa are taking on Manchester and Belfast in a couple days and hopefully I won't break anything except a few hearts.
