Did you even go to Los Angeles if you didn't have a photoshoot in front of the infamous 'Pink Wall'?
Los Angeles is home to thousands of Social Media Influencers so of course it's also home to some of the best photo opportunities to help rake in those likes. The streets of LA are filled with art, and what better way to show your appreciation for that art than to stand in front of it and take pictures.
These are some of my favourite Instagram worthy spots we visited whilst in Los Angeles.
It wouldn't be a list about Instagram and Los Angeles if it didn't include the famous Pink Wall that is Paul Smith's on Melrose Avenue. Simple, yet somehow iconic. Whilst we were there with our mediocre looks and mediocre iPhones, there were several people taking pictures with their fancy cameras and fancy faces. I honestly expected it to be swarming with people taking pictures but there was only a small handful of people and one security guard.
Made in LA. Whilst hovering around the corner waiting for some lads to finish their photoshoot, we found some lush lighting against a random grey wall that produced some of my favourite photos that me and Aimee took. A couple of streets down we also stumbled across a Sam Smith advert made from a wall of white roses which made a lovely back drop, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for some unexpected gems.
The Made in LA wall is another one you will be sure to find on every list about Instagram spots in LA and it definitely deserves to be on every single list. Be ready to risk your life and stand in the middle of the road to get the best angle but the results are worth it.
Last one from Melrose is this little rainbow mural we stumbled across. I mean it's a fucking rainbow what more of an explanation do you need.
If you don't want to pay $15 to actually go inside the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, known to the masses as LACMA, then at least take a trip to the infamous LACMA lamps located just outside the museum and completely free of charge to look at and most importantly take photos at. There was a person taking their actual prom or quinceanera or something photos there in a stunning dress with a professional photographer so don't be worried about getting a little snap happy. We stopped by in the evening so the lamps were on but i'm sure it would still be a lovely little spot during the day.
Melrose Avenue is lined with photo opportunities and we only covered a small amount of them, but if you have a bit of spare time and enjoy taking photos I highly recommend you take a stroll all the way down, you never know what you might find.
I'd also like to take a moment to give Silver Lake a quick shoutout for having some lovely spots, including the 'Stand here and think of someone you love' wall, which they were just redesigning as we were there, the Piano Stairs and a huge Welcome to LA mural.
I hope you've enjoyed this post, if you've ever been to LA please let me know some of your favourite Instagram spots and if you plan on visiting I hope you find this guide to be useful. Also whilst we are talking about Instagram, if you don't already follow me on there please do, @fakegeorgina.
