I've said it several times before so you're all probably well aware of my love for lists, I also love advice; giving and receiving, and this is where the inspiration for this post has come from. I'm very fond of the lists you find on Tumblr such as the 'things I learned in my twenties' and all the lists that are there to promote self care and love and happiness. So I've decided to go through a bunch of the lists that I've liked during my time online and compile my own list with some of my favourite things from my favourite lists. I'll also put some links to some of the original lists at the end.

- Carry an extra lighter (even if you don’t smoke)
- Get something new where you go to eat often, not just your usual.
- Make a budget for yourself
- Teach kids that being different is beautiful and that it’s healthy to love what makes us who we are.
- If you’re texting someone, but nervous to send it, just click the fucking send button. You typed that shit out for a reason.
- Stay out late, but wake up early. You’ll be glad you had all of your day.
- If something makes you laugh until your sides hurt, write it down in the notes in your phone, you’ll want to remember that later.
- Go to plenty of concerts. Especially outdoor ones. Get drunk with your friends, but not sloppy drunk. Just drunk enough to scream your favorite songs and dance without feeling embarrassed.
- It’s okay to be sad, but try not to forget about what makes you happy.
- Coupons are always fantastic.
- If you think something is cute, fucking wear it. Don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. You’ll look great, I promise.
- Plan out your days off with your friends, that way you aren’t stuck around asking the “I don’t know what do you wanna do”
- Don’t forget to remind your friends how much they mean to you.
- If someone gives you a compliment, smile and say thank you. They wouldn't say it, if they didn’t mean it.
- Drink plenty of water. Not only does it keep you hydrated, but clears your skin.
- You’re allowed to be happy. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
- Aim to be better, not bitter
- Clean your fucking room and make your bed you slob. It’ll look so much nicer and you’ll feel better you did it.
- Take plenty of pictures. Of the sunset, your food, your friends, your dog, selfies. Everything. That way, later when you scroll through your camera roll, you’ll remember everything about that day, good or bad.”
- If you are a book lover, but haven’t read much of late (and wish you had), make a goal to read a new book each month.
- Give lots of compliments, even if you’re shy. Everyone else is too.
- Listen to new music
- It’s okay to be sad, but not forever. Sadness is not as beautiful as music makes it seem. Lack of sleep makes your eyes droopy, not deep. Wake up every morning and tell yourself you’re going to have a good day.
- Buy a beautiful diary and a beautiful black pen. write down everything you do, including dinner dates, appointments, assignments, coffees, what you need to do that day. no detail is too small.
- Start on January 1st with an empty jar. Throughout the year write the good things that happened to you on little pieces of paper. On December 31st, open the jar and read all the amazing things that happened to you that year.
- Ask every person you meet how their day is going. Genuinely ask with the soul intention of learning how their day is. Ask the coffee shop employee. Ask the person next to you in line at Walmart. Ask your distant friend. Ask everyone.
- Opening your skin will not set your demons free. Open your heart. Open your mind. Open your hands.
- Be gentle, but be aggressive. Take a stand. Nobody hears your voice if you stay silent.
- Wearing black will ALWAYS make you feel better about yourself.
- Smile often. Smile at strangers. Smile at your friends. Smile when nobody is looking and you’re alone in your bedroom. Smile when somebody is rambling to you.
- Live for yourself. Breathe for yourself. Do everything in your life for nobody but you. This is your life. This is it
